About 2099-
Doom 2099, Spider-Man 2099,
and Punisher 2099 were the three characters reformed in the age
after super heroes. Doom took over the nation before the appearance of the Fantastic
Four in the new age. While the series was canceled after a few
years, it was a horrifying view of the world to come.
Synopsis- The
team is on
the run, Reed and the Thing have been seper
ated from Sue and
Johnny. The team one by one discover that Doom now
rules the nation and the world, which may have come to late since
they have to battle for their lives against the villains in this
world..
Best Moments-
John Buscema is the main reason to buy
the book, which he only did two of them. The church of
Thor is a great touch and the teams reaction to the
future.
Weak Points- The world of 2099 always moved too
fast without stopping to explain anything. In the end of the series, the
Thing was left on Mars, which
makes one wonder what the writers might
of been planning had they been given a chance to complete
the series. Worth the read, at least the first few
issues.
