About the Time Period-
The Thing was turned into a early version of himself, lumpy instead of
rocky; Frankie Ray was part of the team; and John
Byrne had just taken the book.
Synopsis- Aunt
Petunia makes a visit to request the aid of the team to investigate why so
many of her fellow towns people are being scarred to death. A young girl,
Wendy knows why though, as the team discovers her special friends. The
Inhumans all become ill during this time and Roberta makes her first
appearance.
Best Monuments-
Thi
s is one of the
many focal points of the book. A great place to start if your collecting
older issues. Aunt Petunia was one of my favorite events in the book as
well as seeing Frankie Raye, who is now Nova (the
helrad of Galactus). Also the Thing wears his
first costume that covers him from head to toe. Very classic
indeed.
Weak Points- While the story starts off a number of events,
overall it's fairly weak and unresolved. Worth the read though due to Aunt
Petunia
